MILW 4-8-4 #265 - Milwaukee Road |
Description: |
An young woman gazes as the rusting display locomotive built by Alco in 1944 and donated to the city of Milwaukee for display. Fortunately this has a happier ending. The loco was transferred to a covered building at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL and has had some cosmetic restoration done. Hopefully if someone with deep pockets steps forward, maybe MILW #265 could join her sister #261 as a operational steamer again. Unknown photographer. |
