Album Info:It's been 10 years since I first stumbled on not one - but TWO - GG1 Electric Locomotives rusting away at a small former D&H rail crossroad called Cooperstown Junction, about an hour drive east of Binghamton, New York. 10 years ago they were out in the open, on an old siding, along what is now a CP main. Here's a link to the photos taken exactly 10 years ago: http://barney_rebel.rrpicturearchives.net/archiveThumbs.aspx?id=34020 They are both still there, but now tucked way back in the bush behind the Leatherstocking Railway Historical Society office/house/caboose. One, I believe, was purchased by the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, but it remains in Cooperstown Junction due to the inability to get the machine 'legally' roadworthy to be moved by rail to Dearborn. The D&H MofW truck/crane, that was there amongst the weeds a decade ago, is still there near the CP main. I wasn't even sure the GG1s were still there, and had to snoop around a little before seeing them - in a short mixed consist that included a rusty passenger coach and two D&H box cars - hiding in the bushes.
