Album Info:During the summer of 2018 Amtrak temporarily stopped the New York City Section of the Lake Shore Limited due to track, switch, and tunnel work at New York / Penn Station. As a result the entire Lake Shore Limited train set is using Boston South Station as it's terminus / origination point. It's reminiscent of a predecessor - "The New England States" that ran Boston-to-Chicago on the New York Central Railroad into the 1960's. That means a larger-than-normal Lake Shore Limited train set is traversing the New England Section of the route through the summer. That appeals to me photographically so I've ventured out on several dates to try to photograph the LSL / New England section. It helps that both the east and westbound LSL's are scheduled to be running through western Massachusetts in afternoon daylight - the timetable has them meeting on Washington Hill between Pittsfield, MA and Springfield, MA. The temporarily-annulled New York City section will resume sometime this fall after the track and tunnel work at NYP is completed and the LSL will once again resume being split/combined at the Albany-Rensselaer station stop.
