Here is an original photo of Missouri Pacific 4-6-2 #6616 built by Alco-Schenectady in November of 1924. Although the photo was not labeled with date, location or photographer, the suspension bridge behind identifies this as Springfield, MO. The bridge is still over the yard to this day. Specs - serial #66019, class P-73/6601, 73" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 312,810 lb, tractive effort of 47,535 lb., scrapped in June 1951. |

Beautiful original photo of Missouri Pacific 4-6-2 #6623. Built by Alco-Brooks in March of 1925, this Pacific was used in both passenger and freight service. Specs - serial # 66267, class P-73, 73" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 312,810 lb, tractive effort of 47,535 lb. No date, location or photographer given for this photo so the date is approximate. With Rick Morgan's and Jim Ford's help (see comments below), the location may be St. Louis Union Station. |
