Description:  Though it follows the roads for a long way, not all of the old ATSF is next to them. The area from Peach Springs to Seligman is one such. This eastbounds DPUs were pushing their train around the big curve east of Peach Springs in a typical Arizona landscape.

Description:  BNSF 7947 - BNSF 7645 front pair on a northbound covered hopper consist paused in the passing lane along Fruit Valley Road waiting on green. And for once, dont blame the photographer... or the camera, for that matter, for the degradation of the image. Its raining so hard in windy conditions it difficult to keep the lens dry for more than a quick snap or two before camera, lens, and photographer are drenched - not to mention, without higher shutter speed, its nearly impossible to see this pair over the hill clearly.

Description:  BNSF 7947 at the front of a sopping wet pair of paused power units aimed north midway past three in the afternoon. And looking at the original image, those number boards are blurred due to camera movement or optics - its pouring rain diffusing the brighter light coming from the number board lights illuminating the surrounding droplets diffusing any direct path of light. The lack of accumulated water around the well-drained ballast hides the deluge well.
