SP (T&NP) 0-6-0 138 |
Description: |
Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) S-13 class 0-6-0 138 was parked off of the turntable at AVONDALE YARD, just west of New Orleans. “VACATED 1955” was stenciled under the number on its cab, showing that it had already been retired. The locomotive had been built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works (54220) in December 1920 and was sold for scrap to Commercial Metals in Houston three months after this photo, on 27 July 1955.
