Paused at Burnham Yard in Denver is Rio Grande's first diesel, NW2 100. It was built by EMD in January 1941 as 7000. 7000 was renumbered to 100 in September 1941. It ran until January 1968 when it was sold to Precision Engineering who would lease the unit to Great Lakes Steel and Youngstown Sheet & Tube. In 1972, Precision would sell it to the East Camden & Highland, where it became EACH 62. |
