LNE FA-1 #702 - Lehigh & New England  Contributor's Pick!
This appears to be a photo taken during the transition between LNE control and its new owner L&N who repainted the unit with solid stripes rather than the 3 pinstripe nose. It still carries the LNE number 702 which will be changed to LN #333 later. No rr name appears on the side. No date, location or photographer was listed on the back of the photo so the date and location are "guess-timations". With Warren Evans help (see comment below), I have reset the date. With Craig Ealey's help, the location has been established as Pen Argyl, PA (see comment below). If anyone has more info on this unit, it would be appreciated.

warren evans General Nice Shot Gary! I say the location is in Big Stone Gap, KY. Right after L&N repainted them but not renembered them. L&N. acquired just about all LNE units including S2's and RS2's. In 7-1963. 1/6/2015 9:03:27 PM
Craig Ealey General This location is not Big Stone Gap KY but Pen Argyl Shops Pen Argyl PA prior to the sale to the L&N all the units were repainted in the cigar band scheme at Pen Argyl prior to resale. Hope this helps Craig Ealey. 6/17/2016 5:56:56 PM
