Amtrak SW1 736 at 18th Street in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The train is on the former leads to Dearborn Street Station, closed and razed (except the headhouse) when Amtrak took over rail passenger service in the early 1970's. These rails remained for a while to serve as switching leads to the former AT&SF coach yard (off to the right) until the former PRR coach yard could be upgraded. |
