As homage to my father who was the night foreman at J&L in Indianapolis and to the summers I worked there while in college, this is a Jones & Laughlin switcher from the East Chciago plant. It would have beenclad in the light blue and white paint scheme. Built by Baldwin in March of 1949, it was originally ATSF #2280. Not sure how long it lasted during the steel company mergers. Anyone know? Photo is by Thomas Lawsln Jr. |
