Southern SD45 3139
The Southern Railway’s 70 SD45’s were among my all-time favorite diesel locomotives, and none of my images illustrate them better than this one. The engineer on Southern 3139 was biding his time as he waited for a clear route on the New Orleans Terminal Co. at the Frenchmen Street signal. No. 3139 was on No. 194, the run-through train from the Southern Pacific to Birmingham, along with SD35 3090 and SD45 3100.
