Here is page seven of a 22-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Modern Power For Today's Trains: 1949." It was issued originally during July of 1949. Depicted here (R to L) is PRR engine #5824 and another "Centipede" whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as 3,000 horsepower BP-60's for passenger service, but later regeared and downgraded to 2,500 horsepower BP-50's for freight and helper service. #5824 was built in April of 1947 and retired in April of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service.
