PRR 303, H-9S, c. 1954         
Coal Power. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in February of 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #303, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8B in May of 1909, rebuilt as an H-8SB in April of 1915, rebuilt as an H-9S in April of 1923, and retired in February of 1955 after 46 years of faithful service. The road numbers of the other locomotives pictured here are not recorded.
