This sign along the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal EASTERN CONNECTION where it joined the Norfolk Southern at EAST CITY JUNCTION alerted crews on Amtrak’s CRESCENT and SUNSET to change their radio channels. The tower in the distance was built around 1950 and closed on 10 August 1972, but it was still standing in 2020. On the right, construction was underway on former railroad property for the First Baptist Church of New Orleans. (approximate date of photo) |
