Beautiful, sleek unit passenger train designed by UAC (United Aircraft Canada) for high speed rail travel. AMTK #56 was originally built in 1967 as CN #127. Specs - gas-turbine powered, 2,000 hp, direct drive through gearbox, prime mover Pratt & Whitney Canada ST6, would convert to 600V DC third rail power in Grand Central Terminal, maximum speed of 170 mph. In September of 1976, the TurboTrain was finally pulled from service after several problems arose. Paul Kuehner photo
