Nekoosa Paper S1 14 rusts away in a long line of equipment at the Illinois railway Museum. The unit was built in 1947 by ALCO with a 539 diesel prime-mover. On the far left is Amtrak AEM7 945, which saw service on the Northeast Corridor before retirement. The shadow in the bottom right is created by the radiator "wings" of Union Pacific B40-8 1848. Behind it is C&NW RSD5 1689. This unit was built in 1954 with a steam generator and was retired in 1981. |
