Kern. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Duncannon, Pennsylvania, on 4 July 1955. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5797 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5797 was constructed in June of 1952. They've just crossed the Rockville Bridge with a passenger train, and are heading to Altoona and points West. ("PrrFan18n") |
