AM C420 #420 - Arkansas & Missouri         
Originally built by Alco in July of 1966 as Lehigh & Hudson #29, it was picked up by Delaware & Hudson as their #401 but renumbered 420. Arkansas & Missouri purchased it. According to a note on the slide, the loco was used for parts but Matt Giardino (see comment below) identifies this as A&M 58 and was NOT used for parts. Thanks, Matt, for the correction. It's appreciated! The photo was taken by a rail fan listed as Mr. Jones.

Tom Beckett General This was the only C 420 to get Guilford paint. All the others were of LV/D&H ancestry, none were repainted, going to retirement-a couple of them here-in variations of the D&H scheme, a few even living out their days in LV Cornell Red. 9/20/2021 3:59:47 AM
