DMIR 2-8-8-4 #223 - Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range         
Built by Baldwin in May of 1941 (serial #62529), the massive and powerful loco served in iron ore drags until being scrapped in 1963. Specs - class M3, 63" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 695,040, tractive effort of 140, 000 lb. There was no date, location or photographer listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used.
