Nyman. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Szwajkart that was taken near Allegrippus, Pennsylvania, c. 1960. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8666 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by the American Locomotive Company. #8666 is an AS-18AM constructed in February of 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. They're hauling a fully-loaded mineral train down the Allegheny Mountains to the Receiving Yards in Altoona. |
