Some time before Amtrak obtained this locomotive it was used by Mechtron, Inc. of Wilmington, DE, There is a picture of it on page 9 of issue 66 of S2200 South. The photo was taken by Dan Foley in Rensselaer, NY on October 8, 1978. At that time the number 5 had not been applied but otherwise the locomotive looked the same. There was no information to be found on the internet about the M and Circle on the cab side. I knew that wasn't an Army insigna. That is why I keep all my old issues of X2200. A lot of the information about units on this and other sites can only be found in the older magazines.
