Appeared in Railpace ---- The Providence and Worcester was in a major upgrade over the June 23rd weekend on their Woonsocket Viaduct, Clinton Street segment on the Providence main thru Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The bridge that spans Clinton Street and the steel approaches on either side were changed out. The work was contracted out to Osmose Railroad Services from Madison, Wisconsin. The Sunday night PRWO that normally runs between Valley Falls and Worcester ran to Groton, Connecticut, light engines as VFGN, where the train was meet by MFS-4 from Worcester with 69 cars. Monday, June 25th, the nightly PRWO with 66 cars became the first train over the new spans. Saturdays photo shows new steel being swung into place. |
