UP 16 |
Description: |
Union Pacific's turbine 16 was photographed with the hostler engine being started at Ogden, Utah. The big turbine has built by General Electric in June of 1960, placed into service June 23, 1960 and then retired February 28, 1970. An interesting note; on the very next day, only a few short miles away, the Gohden Spike Centennial reenactment was to take place, quit[ a difference between 1869 and 1969. |
