Photo Caption: "Alco T-6 #9844, 1000-hp, at Old Bridge, N.J." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9844, an AS-10A switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8424" in March of 1958, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and renumbered "9844" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-32). |
