Description:
Portraits 5. Here is a steam locomotive portrait by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, on 18 August 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6423, a J-1A (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during August of 1943 and retired in November of 1958 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note the Hostler on the tender's deck. "Fill 'er up, Mac!" (#26 of 40)
