| Louisville & Nashville 4-6-2 number 233 leads train number 7 around the curve off of the median of Elysian Fields Avenue, past the Riverfront Restaurant and onto the riverfront. Number 7 originated at Montgomery, Alabama at 3:45 A.M. and was allowed exactly 12 hours for its 318-mile journey to New Orleans. The train's schedule included 24 scheduled stops and 21 flag stops! If the train is on schedule, the time would be about 3:40 P.M. Right behind the 233 is a Seaboard Air Line horse car. Before the end of 1951 steam power would be replaced with an FP7; and No. 7 - along with Nos. 10 and 14 - would be discontinued in 1953.The 233 was one of 24 K-4 class Pacifics (216-239) constructed at the railroad's South Louisville Shops between 1914 and 1918.
